Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about the platform.

Getting Started

Do I need a brokerage account to use this platform?
The platform is for research and analysis only. It identifies opportunities and provides detailed metrics, but you'll need a separate brokerage account to execute actual trades. The platform does NOT execute trades.
Is this platform free?
The platform offers multiple subscription tiers:
  • Free Tier: Basic access, limited AI usage (1K tokens/month)
  • Starter Tier ($49/mo): Enhanced features, 50K AI tokens/month
  • Pro Tier ($199/mo): Full access including Portfolio Tracking, Performance Analytics, and unlimited AI analysis
Admin/super_admin: Administrators have unlimited access to all features without requiring a paid subscription.
What are the Pro features?
Pro subscription includes:
  • Portfolio Tracker: Manual position tracking with Greeks aggregation and risk analysis
  • Performance Tracking: Trade outcome analysis, win rate metrics, and performance over time
  • Unlimited AI Analysis: No monthly token limits on AI trade recommendations
  • Advanced Analytics: Symbol performance comparison, strategy analysis, and risk-adjusted returns

Note: Admin and super_admin users have access to all Pro features without payment.

Can I try Pro features before paying?
Currently there is no free trial period. However, you can upgrade to Pro, use the features, and downgrade anytime. Your data (portfolio positions, performance outcomes) will be preserved if you downgrade, but you won't be able to access or edit it without a Pro subscription or admin role.
I just registered. Why don't I see any opportunities?
Several possible reasons:
1. You registered outside market hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET) - scans only run during trading hours
2. You haven't added any symbols to monitor - go to Symbol Management and add stocks
3. Your risk parameters are too restrictive - try relaxing them
4. Wait 5 minutes for the first automated scan to complete

Scanning & Opportunities

How often does the platform scan for opportunities?
Automated scans run every 5 minutes during market hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday). There's also a special scan at market open (9:30 AM) and daily analytics at close (4:00 PM).
Can I manually trigger a scan?
Currently, scans run automatically on a fixed schedule. You can click the refresh icon on your dashboard to reload the most recent scan results.
What's the difference between Composite Score and Risk Score?
Composite Score: Overall ranking of the opportunity (higher = better). Combines risk-adjusted returns, liquidity, Greeks, and probabilities. Use this to sort and find the best opportunities.

Risk Score: How risky the opportunity is (lower = safer). Based on volatility, time to expiration, and adverse Greeks. Use this to filter by risk tolerance.
Why did an opportunity disappear from my dashboard?
Opportunities can disappear for several reasons:
1. It no longer meets your risk parameters (price changed, liquidity dropped, etc.)
2. The option expired
3. You changed your risk parameters or removed the symbol
4. Market conditions changed and it fell below minimum thresholds

Risk Parameters

What risk parameters should I start with?
Start with the Balanced profile: Min Liquidity 100, Max Risk 60, Min Return 12%, Max Days 60, Min Prob ITM 30%. This gives you a good mix of opportunities. Adjust based on what you see—too many results? Tighten. Too few? Relax.
Do risk parameter changes affect existing opportunities?
Yes, immediately! When you save new risk parameters, the dashboard table re-filters existing scan results. Opportunities that don't meet the new criteria disappear. The next automated scan (every 5 minutes) will use the updated parameters.
What's a good Minimum Expected Return to set?
Depends on your strategy:
Conservative/Credit Spreads: 5-10%
Balanced/Swing Trading: 10-15%
Aggressive/Speculative: 20%+
Remember, higher return requirements = fewer opportunities, and they tend to have higher risk.

Watchlist

What's the difference between my symbol list and my watchlist?
Symbol List: The stocks (e.g., AAPL, SPY) you want the platform to scan for ALL options opportunities.
Watchlist: Specific option contracts (e.g., AAPL Jan 180 Call) you're personally tracking for potential trades.

Symbol list = what to scan. Watchlist = what you're interested in.
Does the watchlist execute trades?
No! The watchlist is purely for tracking and monitoring. It does NOT connect to any brokerage or execute trades. You must place trades manually through your broker.
What is "Entry Price" in the watchlist?
Entry Price is the option's price when you added it to your watchlist. It serves as your reference point for tracking performance. It's NOT necessarily the price you actually paid if you entered a real trade.

Data & Accuracy

Where does the data come from?
The platform uses real-time market data feeds for options prices, volume, Greeks, and implied volatility. Check with your platform administrator for specific data provider details.
How accurate are the Greeks and probabilities?
Greeks are calculated using standard Black-Scholes and binomial models based on current market data. They're estimates, not guarantees. Probability ITM is statistical likelihood based on current conditions—actual outcomes will vary. Use these as guides, not certainties.
Why don't prices match my broker exactly?
Small discrepancies are normal due to:
1. Data feed delays (usually seconds)
2. Different bid/ask spreads
3. Your broker may use mid-price, last price, or bid/ask
Always verify pricing in your brokerage before executing trades.

Trading & Strategy

Does the platform recommend when to enter or exit trades?
The platform identifies opportunities and provides detailed analysis, but does NOT provide specific trade signals or entry/exit recommendations. You make all trading decisions based on your own analysis and risk tolerance.
Can I use this for credit spreads or other multi-leg strategies?
The platform identifies single-leg opportunities (calls or puts). However, you can use the data to construct multi-leg strategies. For example, use high-probability puts for credit spreads, or pair calls and puts for straddles.
Should I trade all opportunities with high composite scores?
No! Composite scores help you prioritize, but you should:
1. Review detailed analysis for each opportunity
2. Verify alignment with your strategy and outlook
3. Check current market conditions and news
4. Consider position sizing and portfolio balance
Use the platform as a research tool, not a black-box trading system.

Technical Issues

The dashboard isn't loading. What should I do?
Try these steps:
1. Refresh the page (F5 or Ctrl+R)
2. Clear browser cache and reload
3. Try a different browser
4. Check if you're logged in
5. Contact support if issue persists
I can't save my risk parameters. Help!
Common causes:
1. Not logged in - check top-right corner
2. Session expired - log out and log back in
3. Invalid values (negative numbers, etc.)
4. Browser blocking cookies/storage
5. Network connectivity issue
Can I access the platform on mobile?
Yes! The platform is responsive and works on mobile browsers. However, the experience is optimized for desktop due to the amount of data displayed. For best experience, use a tablet or desktop computer.

Account & Security

How do I reset my password?
Click "Forgot Password?" on the login page, enter your email, and follow the reset instructions sent to your inbox.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We do NOT have access to your brokerage accounts or execute any trades on your behalf.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to your Profile page and select "Delete Account." This will permanently remove all your data, watchlists, and configurations. This action cannot be undone.
