Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with Smart Quantitative Trading Platform in 5 simple steps.

Create Your Account
Navigate to the registration page and create your account with a valid email address.
- Click the Register button in the navigation bar
- Enter your email, username, and secure password
- Click Create Account
- You'll be automatically logged in
Tip: Use a strong password with at least 8 characters including numbers and special characters.

Configure Your Risk Parameters
Define your trading preferences to filter opportunities that match your risk tolerance.
- Navigate to your Dashboard
- Locate the Risk Parameters section
- Configure the following settings:

Add Symbols to Monitor
Select the stocks you want the platform to scan for options opportunities.
- In the Symbol Management section, enter a stock symbol (e.g., SPY, AAPL, MSFT)
- Click Add Symbol
- Repeat for all symbols you want to monitor
- Click Save Symbols
Recommended Starting Symbols:
- SPY: S&P 500 ETF - High liquidity, lower volatility
- QQQ: NASDAQ 100 ETF - Tech-heavy, moderate volatility
- AAPL: Apple - Large cap tech stock
- MSFT: Microsoft - Stable large cap

Wait for Automated Scans
The platform automatically scans options chains every 5 minutes during market hours.
Important: Scans only run during market hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday).
If you set up your account outside market hours, you'll need to wait until the next trading day to see opportunities.
Scan Schedule:
- Market Open Scan: Runs at 9:30 AM ET
- Periodic Scans: Every 5 minutes during market hours
- Daily Analytics: End of day summary at 4:00 PM ET

Review and Act on Opportunities
Once scans complete, review the identified opportunities and take action.
- Check your Dashboard for summary statistics
- Review the Opportunities Table showing all matches
- Sort by Composite Score to see the highest-ranked opportunities
- Click on any opportunity to see detailed analysis
- Add interesting opportunities to your Watchlist for tracking
Understanding the Opportunities Table:
- Symbol: The underlying stock ticker
- Strike: The option strike price
- Expiration: When the option expires
- Expected Return: Projected return percentage
- Risk Score: Composite risk rating (lower is better)
- Composite Score: Overall opportunity ranking (higher is better)
Common First-Time Issues
No Opportunities Showing?
Possible causes:
- You configured outside market hours - wait for next trading day
- Your risk parameters are too restrictive - try relaxing them
- The symbols you selected have no matching opportunities - try adding more liquid symbols like SPY or QQQ
- First scan hasn't completed yet - wait 5 minutes after market open
Mobile Trading Tips
Optimized for Mobile
The platform is fully responsive and optimized for mobile trading:
- Touch-Friendly Buttons: All buttons are sized for easy tapping (48px minimum height)
- Auto-Capitalize Symbols: Stock symbol search automatically converts to uppercase as you type
- Larger Search Button: On mobile, the search button takes 66% screen width for easier access
- Responsive Tables: Swipe horizontally to view all columns in opportunity tables
- Mobile-Optimized Cards: Statistics and opportunities adapt to portrait/landscape modes
Pro Tip: For best results on mobile, use landscape mode when viewing detailed opportunity tables.
Understanding Statistics
Home Page Statistics
Your home page displays eight key metrics in two rows:
Row 1 - Opportunities Metrics:
- Total Opportunities: Number of active opportunities from latest scan
- Symbols Monitored: Count of stocks in your watchlist
- Avg Expected Return: Average projected return across all opportunities
- Avg Risk Score: Average risk rating (lower is better)
Row 2 - Watchlist Performance:
- Total Watched: Number of positions in your watchlist
- Average Return: Current average return across all watchlist items
- Win Rate: Percentage of profitable positions
- Profitable: Count of positions with positive returns
Note: All statistics update automatically when you add/remove watchlist items or after scheduled scans.
